For students at Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr. Day means more than a Monday off. It means doing our part in service to the community. In an initiative directed by the social studies department, students collected supplies for “Decadent Desserts” for the Community Cupboard and gave their time to put together bags containing cake mix, frosting, brownie or cookie mix, sugar or flours, jello or pudding, and toppings. Kennedy was able to put together an astounding 244 bags for families in need.
