Here is the latest news and updates on the three biggest names in the video game industry. Playstation attempts to keep its wide lead in the console gaming market while Xbox and Nintendo continue to release new games and OS updates to their respective machines.

Microsoft

RPG (Role Playing Game) developer Obsidian is rumoured to be making a deal with Microsoft to purchase 90% of the company. Obsidian houses the developers behind such highly acclaimed games as Fallout: New Vegas, South Park: Stick of Truth, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2. If this rumoured deal is real, all future games developed by Obsidian will be exclusive to XBox consoles.

Sony

While there are hundreds of thousands of Playstation patreons, many of them don’t know where Sony got their start in the video games industry. The Playstation Classic aims to change that. The Playstation Classic is a tiny version of the original Playstation, but even though it can practically fit in your palm, it’s packed with content. The bite-sized console will contain 20 oldies-but-goldies, including Jumping Flash, Wild Arms, and Final Fantasy 7. You can pick up the Playstation Classic on December 3rd for only $99.99.

Nintendo

The Nintendo Switch was a huge success, but it came with a few bugs. Many people complained about the slightly glitchy controllers, the risk of the console overheating and bending in the dock, and the less-than-stellar storage space. A new version of the console would be an excellent way to iron out all the kinks, and that is exactly what Nintendo’s doing. While there is no information on it yet, Nintendo has revealed plans to release a new version of the portable console at some point in 2019. It can be assumed this new Nintendo Switch may be similar in vein to the NEW Nintendo 3DS, which added some much wanted features onto the original 3DS, such as a control stack and ZL/ZR buttons.
